Volunteering

At Our School
Volunteering at Holy Trinity is an important way to support our school, a great opportunity to stay connected with our children and our school, and help keep tuition costs down.  There are many ways to be involved at our school such as helping at lunch, recess, library, and classroom events that rely on volunteers, typically during the daytime.  For a list of contacts, click here.  Various committees and special events are dependant on volunteers, typically during the evenings.  Volunteers who work directly with children at our school are required to complete the Safe Environment Program program.

For more information, see the Volunteer Opportunities page.

Corporate Sponsored Programs
Many companies support grant programs for employees who donate their time to nonprofit organizations.  Volunteerism helps in two ways.  It is a great opportunity to stay connected with our children and our school.  Often, Holy Trinity is the recipient of grant money that can be used to better our school.  As an aid for employees of these companies, this worksheet provides an easy way to determine the number of hours of service you may have provided to the school.  Some of the companies that provide for this include:

3M GIVES
AT&T Cares
IBM On Demand Community
State Farm® Good Neighbor Grant™ Program
Verizon Volunteers
Washington Mutual CAN! Cash™ Program

Supporting Our School

Throughout the year, various fundraising programs are used to help offset operating expenses, purchase special equipment, and ultimately help keep tuition costs down.  These programs are critical to the success of providing an affordable education.

Market Day
For over 25 years, Market Day the original fundraising food co-op, has helped schools throughout the United States raise money for additional programs.  Holy Trinity Schools allocate their profits to offset the cost of the Holy Trinity School Technology Plan.  When you order from Market Day, not only do you get great food at a value, but our schools also earn 10% profit on the retail cost of your purchase.

You will receive monthly reminders about product information and upcoming specials.  Flyers are sent home with your student each month or you may pick one up at school.  For your convenience, orders can be placed online through Market Day.  Our School Account No. is: 7375.  By ordering online, you can modify your order until the online deadline which is 12 noon the Friday before the monthly sale date.  Payment can be made online or you can pay by check or cash at the sale.  If you do not choose to order online, you may fill out your order form and return it to school by the monthly due date.

Market Day orders are available for pick up at the Holy Trinity Elementary Cafeteria from 3:00-4:00p.m., generally on the 3rd Wednesday of every month during the school year.

SCRIP
SCRIP simply means substitute money.  In other words, scrip is gift certificates from national and local retailers.  These retailers agree to sell their gift certificates to non-profit organizations like ours at a discount.  We partner with the Great Lakes Scrip Center to order our school's scrip certificates.  We then sell those certificates at face value, resulting in a profit for our school and church.

Example:  You buy a $100 grocery certificate for $100.  The school purchased that certificate for $95 (a 5% discount).  The result is a $5 profit for our school.  You have spent nothing extra but have raised $5 for our school and church and received tuition credit too!
